BPOM EXPLANATION RELATED TO NDMA CONTENT

Head of Drug and Food Supervisory Agency (BPOM) Penny K Lukito (center) accompanied Ketum Management Center of Indonesian Pharmacy Association (PP IAI) Nurul Falah (left), and Chairman of the Association of Doctors Specialist Doctors in Indonesia (PAPDI) dr Prasetyo Widhi Buwono (right) provided presses related to the test results of N-Nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in medicinal products containing Ranitidin, in BPOM Office, Jakarta, Friday (11/10/2019). Based on the review of the test results that have been conducted until October 9, 2019 against the presence of the NDMA pollutants on the ranitidin product, BPOM ordered the whole pharmaceutical industry of ranitidin’s license holder to stop while production, distribution and distribution in order to be careful to protect the society.
