Responding to the controversy of the rules of import films and royalty taxes in January 2011, the government through Kemenbudpar stated plans to suppress domestic film production taxes from the original 10 percent to zero percent to protect the national film industry, while for imported films impropered to 23,75 percent and royalty taxes worth 43 US dollar cents per meter of film rollers circulated.
