PADANG, 22/3 - DEMO MAHASISWA MENTAWAI. Ten students from the Mentawai Islands Regency joined the Student Movement Mentawai Gugat Sawit (Gemmagus) in front of Sumbar Environmental Impact Control Agency, on Jalan Khatib Sulaiman, Padang, Sumbar, Tuesday (22/3). They convey the aspiration of rejecting the ingress of oil palm plantations in Mentawai because it will promote the opening of land and logging of wood in massively as well as damaging local communities’ agricultural plants.
