NUSANTARA FESTIVAL IN PAPUA

The dancer of Ayapo Village blows traditional ame trumpet in the opening of the Archipelago Cultural Pagelaran at Khalkote Beach, East Sentani District, Jayapura Regency, Papua, Thursday (28/7/2022). A number of dancers from Ayapo Village brings Akhokoy Dance in the Nusantara Festival, Akhokoy Dance originated from the village of the Yat Yokiwa on the edge of the Sentani Lake has the meaning of raising the magnitude of the Ondoafi figure or the People’s respected indigenous Head and reflecting the joy of the three tribes of the inhabitants of Yokiwa, among other tribes of Awoitauw, the Fiobetauw tribe, as well as the Mimitauw tribe.
