Firefighter and land in South Sumatra
The Governor of South Sumatra Herman Deru (left) is combined with the Director General of Environmental Pollution Control and Damage (PPKL) KLHK Sigit Reliantoro (second left), Deputy of the Ministry of Emergency Handling BNPB Mayjen TNI Fajar Setyawan (second right) followed the readiness of personnel and Forest and Land Fire Fighting equipment (Karhutla) in South Sumatra in Griya Agung Palembang, Wednesday (17/5/2023). In order to prevent the occurrence of forest fires and land during the more extreme dry season due to the influence of El Nino in South Sumatra, the South Sumatra Provincial Government set the status of forest fires and lands (carhutla) since 1 March 2023 to November 2023 by supporting 8.514 troops consisting of TNI, Polri, BPBD, Manggala Agni, as well as 770 firefighters (RPK) and 42 Quick Reaction Team (TRC), 350 Fire Care Community personnel (MPA)from private companies APP Sinar Mas and its supplier partners.
