The power of the crab of the bakau is controlled by high salt levels
The map shows the crab of the bakau (Scylla serrata) results of cultivation in Dusun Papakka, District Bontoa, District Maros, South Sulawesi, Friday (8/9/2023). The farmers are forced to reduce the number of Bakau crab seedlings from 600 to 200 tails that cause lowering production results due to the high degree of salinity or dissolved salt content in the water almost reach 40 ppt (part per thousand) due to the increasing evaporation of sea water in the dry season, while the limit of salinity tolerance for the crab of the bakau is in the figure of 15-30 ppt.
