The power of the crab of the bakau is controlled by high salt levels
The mapping places the crab of the bakau (Scylla serrata) in the Tasun Papakka shot area, Minasa Upa Village, Bontoa District, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi, Friday (8/9/2023). The farmers are forced to reduce the number of Bakau crab seedlings from 600 to 200 tails that cause lowering production results due to the high degree of salinity or dissolved salt content in the water almost reach 40 ppt (part per thousand) due to the increasing evaporation of sea water in the dry season, while the limit of salinity tolerance for the crab of the bakau is in the figure of 15-30 ppt.
