Tsunami Early Detection Tools

CILEGON, 11/4 - TSUNAMI DETECTION. A number of operational implementers from the Research and Technological Development Agency (BPPT) lowers the tsunami early detection tools (Tsunami Early Warning System) at Merak Mas Indah Kiat Port, Cilegon, Banten, Wednesday (11/4). BPPT installed a unit of tsunami wave detection equipment named "Buoy Tsunami Indonesia" in the Sunda Strait or West Sumatra Island Power precisely about 160 miles of sea from Merak Port, Banten. The early tsunami detection device is expected to last for ten years. ANTARA/str-July/ip/nz/07.
