Festival of megengan tradition welcomes Ramadan in Demak

Participants said to display part of the Srikandi Gandewo Kusumojoyo Horse Dance in the Megengan Tradition Festival and the Wali City Culture Kirab in the Demak District Alun-alun, Central Java, Monday (11/3/2024). The tradition of descending from the 15th century initiated by Sunan Kalijaga as the media of the spread of Islamic religion through the culture of Java and Islam has the meaning of preparing the Demak community to hold all appetites in welcoming the month of Ramadan through art, as well as a space for the growing creativity of local art and culture as well as UMKM in Demak Regency.
