Abhiseka Ceremony at Prambanan Temple

Hindus follow a series of Abhiseka ceremonies in the courtyard of Prambanan Temple, Sleman, DI Yogyakarta, Sulasa (12/11/2024). The Abhiseka ceremony attended by hundreds of Hindus is a purification procession and commemoration of the inauguration of Prambanan Temple for the first time by Rakai Pikatan in 856 AD as a marker of the peak of the power of the Ancient Mataram Kingdom.
