A number of Indian Muslims conduct the tradition of Arak Cendana, on Jalan Pasa Batipuh, Padang, West Sumatra, Monday (30/3) night. "Breaking Cendana" is a tradition cover ritual followed by the Indian descendants in Sumbar and surrounding each Jumadl End in welcoming Maulid Sahul Hamid, namely by reading shalawat while carrying a powder from the sandalwood that was then applied to their face.
