MALANG, 26/11 - NEW FARMING SYSTEM. Farmers harvest rice planted using SRI (System of Rice Intensification) developed by Brantas Centre’s Irigation Department and researchers from Gadjah Mada University at the village of Kedung pedaringan in Malang, East Java province, November 26, 2008. The new rice planting method from Madagascar was able to increase rice production up to 12 tons per hectare.
