TSUNAMI RISK RESEARCH

Researchers of the Institute of Phsyique du Globe Paris Dr Helene Carton (front) accompanied by the expertise of the Marine Geophysics of Nanyang Techmological University (NTU) Singapore Prof Satish Singh presented the research results "Mentawai Gap-Tsunami Earthquake Risk Assessment (Mega-Tera)" on the Falkor research boat belonging to Schmidt Ocean Institute in Padang, West Sumatra, Tuesday (23/6). A total of 10 researchers consist of EOS-TU (Singapura), IPGP (French) and LIPI (Indonesia) in the research studied the risk of the earthquake and tsunami in the western coast of Sumatra precisely in the waters of Mentawai.
