IMPORT WASTE TO INDONESIA
The East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa (second right) observe the paper trash piles imported by a paper mill company as the paper raw material in Mojokerto, East Java, Wednesday (20/6/2019). Based on the data of Ecological Studies Institute and Ecoton Wet Land Conservation, the ingress of waste with brands and sales locations outside Indonesia, allegedly due to China’s policy stops the import of plastic waste from a number of countries in the European Union and America that results in plastic trashes to destinations in ASEAN. Indonesia is estimated to receive a small amount of 300 containers that mostly go to East Java every day. ANTARA PHOTO/Zabur Karu/wsj.
