Blue eyes are usually obtained from the descendants of the country, because in Indonesia itself, there is no original tribe that has blue eyes.
However in West Sumatra, Minangkabau’s people have blue eyes that are the descendants of their family.
They are people who have Waardenburg syndrome, a rare syndrome that causes hearing disorders, eye color changes, skin, hair, and face shape.

People with this condition usually have blue or different colored eye slices (iridium chromia), such as one blue and one black or brown.
The name of this syndrome was taken from the name of D.J. Waardenburg, the Dutch origin eye doctor who first identified it in 1951.
Doctor Alana Biggers, the graduate of the University of Illinois Chicago, the United States said, Waardenburg syndrome is a rare genetic condition, which is only suffered by 1 of 40,000 people in the world.

People with this syndrome usually experience hearing loss in one or in both ears. In addition, they are also not able to see very bright light, but can see objects even though in dark conditions.
As the two boys experience in Jorong Kubang Rasau, Nagari Balai, Limapuluhkota Regency, West Sumatra. Fahri (9) and Gofar (4), both have blue eye slice color, and next to brown. Their blue eyes are beautiful like diamonds, but they experience hearing disorders since birth.
Parents of Fahri and Gofar, Yulia Eliza (29), which has a light brown colored eye iris that claim the economic condition of the family is flawless so it is not able to buy hearing tools for her child.

Yulia admitted, the doctor has advised him to be given a hearing device for Rp24 million/unit or operated at Rp500 million for both children. But finally Yulia can only surrender to the two offers, because he does not have enough money for that purpose.
Similarly experienced by Dani (6,5) and his sister, Alika (2,5), the residents of Jorong Padang Data, Nagari Simawang, District of Reksi, Flat Land District, West Sumatra. They both have blue eyes but experience hearing loss since birth.
Parents of the two children, Jainal (33) admitted, received doctor’s advice in order to break Dani a year again in SLB. After that, it was recently reviewed whether it was already able to use hearing or not.

However, the everyday Jainal works as the farmers feel free to get the hearing aid, because he still boasts BPJS health due to difficulties in COVID-19 pandemi.
Have a iris of color disorders, also experienced a student named Armila Putri (14), living in the Lipai Stone Hall, Nagari Batipuah Baruah Baruah, District of Batipuah, District of Tanah Flat. Although it has a color disorder, there is no hearing loss experienced Armila, everything is normal. Armila has a blue-colored left eye iris, and next to it again black, making itself dioloked since sitting on the base school bench.
But now, it’s just proud of that, because the different eyes of the color it has made a number of local photographers come to drag it. Armila used as a model by them and paid. Now it’s not shy again having a color disorder.

The pride is also felt by the Tuti Fariani family (58), whose generation has blue eyes to the grandchildren. Tuti who is professional as the teacher, has children who are one of the only blue spy, namely Muthia Eriani (30).
Muthia has a pair of children, which also turns blue, namely Amira (5) and Gibran (2,5).
Living in Nagari Sungayang, Tanah Flat Regency, Tuti is proud of his family known as the family of blue eyes in the area.
