There is no fixed teacher, no class, even special uniforms in the learning system. The curriculum is determined musyawarah by its own children, such as rimba explorer recognizes various types of capungs and plants.

Widi Nurmahmudi, began the establishment of Kampoeng Batara in 2015 because it sees many wedding figures with a very young age, which should still be the school age in his village. This occurs due to various factors such as economic problems and the low understanding of the importance of education. From about 350 family heads in the environment, there are only three people who are undergraduate while other majority of primary school graduates.

Starting from that state, Widi has a simple idea to make activities by taking five children around her home to create traditional games such as egrang, detox (collective bamboo) and traditional music by utilizing ingredients available in their surrounding environment.

The activity turns out to attract children’s interest in the surrounding and growing environment until November 2020 reached approximately 37 children, following the learning system that was not obtained in formal schools.

Widi rajin captures every child’s activities and uploads them on social media that then prevents volunteers from various backgrounds such as artists, artists, activists even regional officials to the center to come and teach.

The volunteers teach knowledge in the field of expertise such as reading, writing, drawing, dancing, regional language and theater play.

The activity opens the horizon and the knowledge of children including their ideals. For example, Pendi, one of the children in the village of Batara, has the ideals to be an artist after seeing the appearance of the Indonesian dance maestro Didik Nini Thowok when visiting Batara.

A fun and diverse learning system as well as enriched with collaboration from volunteers is assessed to encourage the foundation of children’s characters such as improving confidence, having leadership soul and encouraging the spirit of learning. Currently not only children who have the spirit of learning, the parents also have the same spirit, following the educational teaching of packages in the Center of Community Study (PKBM) organized by local educational offices.
