60 YEARS ANNIVERSARY CONFERENCE ASIAN AFRICAN

In April 1955, Indonesia recorded history as the host of the Asian African Conference (KAA). The city of Bandung, West Java was selected as a meeting place from 29 conference participants that most recently acquired its independence.


Five KAA initiator countries are Burma (Myanmar), India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Sailan (Sri Lanka) invites other countries in the Asia, Africa, and the Middle East gathered in Gedung Merdeka, Jalan Asia Africa, Bandung discussed various issues that ultimately promoted the economic and cultural cooperation of Asia-Africa and against colonialism or neocolonialism of two major blocks in the cold war period when it was western and eastern blocks.


The conference gave birth to a strategic deal called as “Dasasila Bandung”, containing 10 statements on the support of peace and cooperation of the world.

Until April 2015, KAA has entered its 60 years old. In the 60th anniversary of KAA and the 10th Anniversary of the Strategic Partnership of Asia Africa (NAASP), Indonesia returns to host a series of high-level meetings with themes "South-South-South-South-South-South-South-South-South-South-Selatan in the World " Peace and Peace; in Jakarta and Bandung on 19—24 April 2015.


This 60th anniversary event will be held in Bandung on April 24th. The leaders of the state and invitation of KAA will do historical walk from Hotel Savoy Homann to Gedung Merdeka on Jalan Asia Africa to swim the first KAA in 1955.


Previously various economic and cultural activities will be held such as the African Asian Flag Charter, environmental care activities, Angklung for The World involving 20,000 players of warklung, Asian African Music & Costume Parade and Public Culture Festival.
