TNI AL through Lantamal VIII/Manado exerts one patrol boat unit to reach the archipelago and accelerates COVID-19 vaccination efforts. KAL Tedung Selar II-8-26 is the element of TNI AL patrol boat, bringing a health team along with the logistics needed, climbing the ocean reaching the islands in Talaud Islands District, Sangihe, Sitaro and other small islands in North Minahasa.
The majority of citizens who reside in the archipelago are professional as fishermen. Kinabuhutan Island, Talise Island and Gangga Island, three of the island’s gloves are loved as a place of vaccination. The island located in the North Minahasa Regency is fairly close to Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi Province.
However, not all islands have adequate infrastructure. The absence of pier that causes water transportation as the only transportation that connects to the mainland is highly dependent on the pair of sea water massage. Non-even telecommunication signal facilities up to 24-hour electrical availability.

In the village of Airbanua, Talise Island for example, the absence of adequate land paths that connect with other villages as well as the absence of mobile telecommunication signals resulting in the lack of coordination between local village governments in socializing vaccination programs. It affects the inconsistency of citizens on the vaccination program that has been socialized far the previous day.
A wide range of challenges in the field is addressed with the TNI AL-party sympathetic approach. KAL Tedung Selar II-8-26 instructed the TNI Brigjen (Mar) I Wayan Ariwijaya as Danlantamal VIII/Manado for traveling around the island and came to the crowd of fishing boat. People in coastal villages are also given the opportunity to follow the vaccination above the ship, in addition to attracting people’s interest also as a solution to avoid the crowd of the vaccines.
Not only above the ship, TNI AL’s health team also came directly the coastal villages and opened vaccination post by hanging the health force element of the North Minahasa Regency Health Office. The vaccination activity has managed to initiate more than 1,400 people of maritime sector only within three days. TNI AL as the end of the vaccination of the vaccination to the maritime sector community will continue to implement this activity as many targets as possible.
