Indonesia is one of the ingredients used for kitchen spices. Many and easily found in traditional markets and modern markets. Even herb plants are widely found in homeyards.

An abundance of spice plants in the archipelago becomes blessing for the Aloysia Kurniadi and Rudy Eko Yulianto. Couple husband wife from Madiun, East Java sees the great potential of the economy-value spice. They then pioneer UMKM Edelweis specializing dry spice production.

Starting when the beginning of the pandemi in March 2020. Aloysia is a boil because of its kitchen spices are many rots while some markets are closed for the prevention of COVID-19 deployment. So it’s a business idea to make quality dry kitchen seasonings without preservatives.

They also utilize social media to seek raw materials, buy directly to farmers and empower people around to use their home page as gardening land. Until now UMKM Edelweis has eight employees and 14 farmers partners spread across Madiun, Pacitan and Salatiga.

During his business journey, UMKM Edelweis got education and training from BRI related to building a business. Through the Indonesian Artificial Bangga National Movement program (BBI National Movement), they got training to build business networks overseas.

The UMKM has the cook motto has practically marketed 38 variants of spice products and seasoning herbs that can last up to two years. The leaves of the greetings, pandan leaves, orange leaves, coconut sugar, palm flowers and red ginger are some spices that become superior products.

Their dry herbs and spices have been sold in various online markets including mini markets and super markets in a large number of cities in Indonesia, and export small scales to Singapore.

They hope, the existence of this business can help and improve the living of surrounding communities and return the glory of Indonesian spices in the world.
