Tourist attraction in Mangrove Conservation Area and Bekantan

If you want to see the original animal of Kalimantan in addition to orangutans, come to Tarakan City, North Kalimantan (Kaltara). There is a beantan (Nasalis larvatus), a long-lived monkey, large, and hanging mangrove forests in Mangrove Conservation Area and Bekantan (KKMB) covering 22 hectares.

In addition to the long nose sebagi its distinctive feature, beantan or often called monkey belanda, a matter or belanda stall also has a characteristic feature of the body's pale gray hair, to yellowish with brown face, reddish brown colored back and gray white long tail.

It is not necessary to strike expensive cocek to see the original endemic animal of Kalimantan because it is enough to pay Rp5,000 to once in the ecosystem of the mangrove forest or mangrove, the habitat is solid. With a cheap ticket price it makes the area crowded to visit tourists, from children to parents and is very suitable for educational tourism.

In KKMB,  bekantan live in groups with a population of about 45 tails. It also emphasizes different properties with other excellent types. Bekantan does not include aggressive monkeys so that make tourists visiting the area feel comfortable to see it directly in its habitat. 

KKMB is inhabited to become one of the destinations   tourism in Kaltara and based on the data of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) North Kalimantan, per June 2023 the number of tourists visiting the province reached 26.762 people with 543 aircraft arrival units. The potential for tourism in the Benuanta Land is certainly necessary to be managed and developed so that it is not only able to hit the local economy but also to welcome the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

In line with that, the Bangga National Movement campaign is Traveling in Indonesia Aja (Posity Society) and Indonesia’s Artificial Bangga National Movement (BBI Office) is expected to be an event for North Kalimantan Province to be able to continue to correlate the potential of tourism and creative economy for more massive and sustainable economic growth. So it is expected that Kaltara Province will also be able to account at least 1.4 million travels from targets 1,2-1,4 billion movement of Indonesian tourists (wisnus) along 2023 as targeted by the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan Investment.
