Elang bondol (Indus Rules) with his white fur that was established as a mascot Jakarta according to the decision of the Governor of the Special Regional Head of Jakarta City Number 1796 Year 1989.
In the decision letter, the ruling of bondol is used as a mascot of the city of Jakarta because it has an attractive appearance and has excellent flying ability. In addition, it has an eye sharpness in searching for mangsa. This behavior can be used as a symbol for Jakarta citizens who are always dynamic, dexterity and fast acting.
Realizing the importance of the existence of bondol eagles both for the environment or as a mascot, the government with Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN) has made a rescue effort such as making a special rehabilitation place of bondol eagles located in the East Kotok Island, Seribu Islands Regency, DKI Jakarta.

During the rehabilitation center, the guards with displin conduct strict monitoring such as supervision and management of the diet. They also care and train bondol eagles with patient to quickly adapt in wild.

Rehabilitation efforts made since 2004 it has managed to save bondol elang from extinction. The last data is JAAN at 2023 as many as 101 bondol and sea eagles completed is rehabilitated and has been released wildly. A tremendous achievement because in 2014 and the population of the ruling bondol in the remaining Thousand Islands Regency is not less than 18 tails.
