PURIFY THE NATURE OF BALI

Awaiting the New Year’s Day Saka 1939, almost all beaches in Bali seemed to be filled with thousands of Hindu Tomatoes to purify themselves and nature.

They come from a variety of indigenous villages in the Island of Godta in turn to apply the purity in the series of purifying ceremony called Melasti.

Melasti is also called Melis or Mekiyis who are meaningful to conserve spiritually all sorts of cosmos or called "Bhuana Agung" and oneself of humans or "Bhuana Alit", especially purifying thoughts, words and deeds.

However, Melasti ceremony held in the same principle is generally with a series of curban rituals, pressurizing and purifying ceremony by dipping symbolically sakral objects to the sea.

Each custom village can choose one of the three good days that have been set to carry out rituals according to the place, time and state.

The Melasti ritual continued with the Nyepi Day with the hope of life in the earth to always be in the correct and harmonious path in accordance with the provisions of Weda's sacred web.
