The Seren Taun process has been around since the ancient Sunda era originally as a symbol of tribute to Nyi Pohaci Sanghyang Asri, a Goddess of Rice in ancient Sunda's trust. Nyi Pohaci Sanghyang Asri is trusted as a goddess of fertility carrier and prosperity in ancient Sunda mythology.

Until now Seren Taun’s event continues to be preserved, as a cultural form of ancestor heritage that still develops in the Sunda community. As one of the cultural activities, Seren Taun has become one of the exciting activities for tourists, especially those who want to better understand closer to the Sunda culture.
