CLIMBING THE CHARM OF THE NATIONAL PARK KOMODO

Manggarai Barat is a district located in East Nusa Tenggara Province with a charming and fascinating archipelago. The island that keeps the relics of the ancient era makes its own appeal for tourists.

Many of the archipelago make their own adventure for lovers of wild natural tourism, such as Komodo Island. The island has an area of 390 km square, tourists can see live wildlife, one of the only Komodo (Varanus komodoensis) or also called Ora.

Komodo was first documented Europeans in 1910. The name extends after 1912, when Pieter Antonie Ouwens, the director of the Zoological Museum in Buitenzorg (kini Bogor), published a journal about the komodo after receiving photos and skin reptiles. Until now the reptile inhabited the habitat became the tourism icon, even year 2010 Komodo National Park entered the seven wonders of the world (New Seven Wonders of Nature).
