Borobudur Temple is a Buddhist temple located in Borobudur, Magelang, Central Java. The largest Buddhist temple in the world established around the eightth century in the reign of Syailendra’s wangsa was at approximately 100 km southwest of Semarang or 40 km northwest of Yogyakarta.
The history of Borobudur began to be highlighted the world since it was found in 1814 by Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, who was currently serving as the British General Governor on Java. Since then Borobudur has experienced a series of rescue efforts and distribution. The largest broadcasting project was held in 1975 to 1982 on the efforts of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia with UNESCO, then this historical site entered the World Heritage Site list.
This relics was built as a place of Buddhism as well as pilgrimage. Borobudur is built in the style of Mandala that reflects the universe in Buddhism. The structure of this building is box-shaped with four entrances and loop-shaped center points. From existing data, there are about 2.672 relief panels and 504 Buddhist arca. The relief-relief has a shape and engraving that tells a story or picture of ancient Javanese life.
