The kano polo sports branch is currently not cooled on the Asian Games 2018 in Palembang and Jakarta, but it is planned to be cooled on the Asian Games to XIX in Hangzhou, China later. To introduce a sport that combines water polo and kano, then held an expebrating match followed by eight son teams and seven daughter teams at Aquatic Stadium Jakabaring Sport City (JSC), Palembang, South Sumatra.
The name of the kano polo itself comes from a combination of two names of sports branches, namely canoeing (kayak) and water polo. Although kayak and water polo is also raced in Asian Games, but kano polo remains a separate sports branch itself.
In this game, the two teams of five athletes (three reserves). They must race score as much as possible numbers by entering the ball to the opponent’s goal. Each athlete is equipped with a double-sided paddle, a small kayak boat for one person and a security fixture. The ball can be passed and shot to opponent's goal with paddle or by hand.

Although this year became the first year introduced kano polo in Asian Games, actually kano polo is quite popular abroad, especially Europe. There is even a variety of annual sports events that include kano polo as one of the branches raised.
This sport was formed in London, England in 1970, it was as a trial match in the national kano exhibition at Crystal Palace National Sports Centr. Kano Polo was first played in the Asian competition in 1985 and entered into Indonesia in 1989.
The Indonesian kano polo team has twice become the Asian champion, namely in Hiroshima Japan in 1993 and Korea in 1997. In the championship of Asia 2017 in Malaysia, the Iranian son team became the champion of Japanese dissolved and Chinese Taipei while in the female category, Chinese Taipei became the champion of Iran and Singapore.
