The quiet life in the wild forests of Borneo dreams for each orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) because there is a habitat of origin and original. But not all of the unique species are biased to enjoy the wild of Kalimantan forest, most not for about 200 more orangutans who are now still inhabiting the conservation of Borneo Orangutan Survival (BOS) Kutai Kartanegara, East Kalimantan.
They live in care and supervision as well as undergoing training as a silhouette to live in the wild of the forests of Kalimantan, they also learn live in the real nature to continue undergoing a ‘release’ process.
HOME HOME.
But it turns out that the process is not easy, besides it takes time to prepare orangutans as well as costs for the setup of wild forest infrastructure for them. That’s why it’s almost ten years, BOS hasn’t released orangutans.
The cause is difficult to find the ideal and safe forest for the current orangutan release process, they must also pay Rp 13 billion to the untu government of land discharging permits under the HPH Restoration scheme with 60 years of use.
The fee has not included maintenance and rehabilitation costs during being in the rehabilitation center that is also not cheap, for one tail can only spend Rp 4-5 million per month, including food, regular health care, formula milk and diapers for babies.
