CENTURIES NATIONAL MONUMENT BUILDINGS

National Press Monument in Solo City is the Societiet Sasana Soeka building belonging to Mangkunegaran relatives, which was built on the KGPAA Sri Mangunegoro VII initiative in 1918. Before the independence period in 1933, R.M. Ir. Sarsito Mangunkusumo has led meetings in the building that used to serve as a meeting hall of Mangkunegaran relatives. Then, the meeting gave birth to the first radio station of pribumi with the spirit of nationality called Solosche Vereeniging (SRV).

In fact, the Indonesian Wartawan Association (PWI) organization was successfully formed and was born in the building on February 9, 1946. Next, the date was commemorated as the birth day of the Indonesian Wartawan Association at the National Press Day. Meanwhile, the name of the National Press Monument was used to replace the Societiet Sasana Soeka officially characterized by the signing of the prescription by President Soeharto on February 9, 1978. Now, the National Press Monument is a Technical Execution Unit in the General Directorate of Information and Public Communications Ministry of Communication and Informatics.

So many historical events were engraved from this Monument. In a national seminar titled the Seabad Building Societeit Mangkunegaran, Easter of the Persian Competition Knitted Kebhinekaan and Enforce Pancasila, Taufiq Razen, a national culture that became a speaker, called that the National Monument Building was not just a media affair.
