BIKSUNI IN LAND FREEDOM

Thailand (land of free) is one of the countries with the majority of the Buddhist religions of the Theravada tradition.

Biksu is easily found in the city streets in Thailand. But it is not the case with biksuni. Women without hair and yellow fights will be difficult to encounter there.

The official voting of women to become a monk in the country of white elephants can be said never. Unlike it is worth in Burma or Sri Lanka that also has the discipline of Theravada.

Female participation in the recognized Thai Buddhist community is only limited to "Mae Ji" position among ordinary people and monks. Their hair is also shaved outlined, wearing white robes as well as laziness of eight sila, but positioning as well as facilities that they can not be equal to monks. Most of them spend time taking care of Wat (Vihara).
