BORDER GUARD

Long Village In is a remote village in Malinau district, East Kalimantan, and border directly with the Malaysian Sabah region. The village is 300 kilometers from the capital of Malinau district, Kaltim can only be reached by using the “tinting village” for 28 hours by dissembling the full Tubu River with a rafting track.


The village population is only 200 people from the Punan Dayak tribe, whose eyes of their search are mostly gardening and hunting of the forest pig. Punan’s Dayak tribes are known as more power tribes who prefer to live far from crowds, they prefer hunting and gardening in the forest even far from electricity, modern communication tools, and land transportation.

Most of the hunts of forest pigs, they are fueled in bamboo known as “buinun” which is a typical food of Dayak tribes.

All adult men have been intimate hunting and gardening.


When the sun goes around the dark house of the gulita, only the oil lamp is made of milk cans that illuminate the majority of citizens, even children learn to rely on the light of the oil lamp. So far the story of the border ranah, which although the community undergoes a simple life, but they are the true guards of the border, keeping the unity of NKRI.
