Within under a minute, a 5.9 Richter scale earthquake struck Yogyakarta on May 27, last year. A year has past, but the effects of that tragedy left a deep scar.
Thousands of people lost their life, and thousands more wounded, while their homes were damaged and destroyed. Donations came from around the world in various ways to bring the smile back to the survival victims. Some of them smile, while other has to be patient.

Up to present, problems keep shadowing that massive tragedy. The victims are physical injuries and trauma for the victims. And there are also the unfinished housing reconstruction problems. Housing, one of the primary necessity for living, involves a large amount of fund so some try to interfere the process for their own benefit.

No wonder some of the aid program had to be postponed. Some victims complain about the cutback of reconstruction fund, in fact some of the victims are cut from the list of the people who would receive aid that had already been announced. Aids that are wrongfully received also occur.
These bureaucratic problems are familiar for Indonesia. Many people use the weakness of aid donation system to enrich themselves. And for the result, thousands of families for the past one year live in a tent or house with plaited bamboo as the wall and tarpaulin as the roof.
