The morning 16 August 1945 at 04.30, Bung Karno and Bung Hatta was brought the revolutionary youth to a place to secure from the Japanese influence. Rengasdengklok is selected because it is quite far from the north street of Jakarta-Cirebon, as well as easy to oversee if the Japanese army came to Rengasdengklok, Karawang.
In the alienation, Soekarno and Hatta occupies the Chinese descendants, Djiauw Kie Siong, in Bojong Village, Rengasdengklok. In this house also occurs a download between the youths of Sukarni, Wikana, Chaerul Saleh and a number of youths with Soekarno-Hatta representing the old class to be carried out immediately by Proclaimation of Independence.

Now after 68 years passed the house where the alienation was inherited to the grandchildren of Djiau, Janto Djoewari (Jiauw Kiang Lin) and was still preserved its original shape even though it was moved from its original location due to the erosion of the Citarum river in the 1960s. Jati wood house is still white-green, bamboo woven ceiling even red brick teael floor still last.
In the inside there is still a whole house fixture and at the left right there are two rooms that are right forged Soekarno and the left forged Muhammad Hatta and all still intact, only the writing table has nothing.
Now the place is still a lot of guests and society, especially ahead of August 17th, to swim the event of 68 years ago, where the history of independence proclaim cannot be separated from the simple house.
