Uppatasanti in the literature of Burma means protecting oneself from major disasters. Peace is as aura from the pagoda located around 10 km east direction from the capital center of Myanmar’s new reign, Nay Pyi Taw.
Pagoda Uppatasanti began to be built in November 2006 and completed in March 2009 on the initiative of the military leaders of Myanmar General Than Shwe.
The building that became the main icon of Nay Pyi Taw has a height of about 99 meters, is the replica of Pagoda Shwedagon (Gold Palace) in Yangoon.
Before entering the area in the pagoda, visitors will find a large number of bells that according to local beliefs if singing the bell as much as three times will bring fortune.
Inside the big dome of the pagoda is also often known as the Peace Pagoda there are four pieces of Buddhist statues made from marble stone around the main pillar blanketed a marun red fabric.
Around the inner wall there is a relief circuit that tells various Buddhist travel scenes and ancient royal history of Bagan led by King Anawrahtra about the 11th century.
One thing that is important to remember visitors even though this pagoda is open to the public including tourists from a variety of world warriors, but this building remains a place of worship for Buddhists, so that various things should be adhered to such a tidy dress, remove the footwear before entering the pagoda, is forbidden to light the candle and eat and drink inside the pagoda.
